New Year – New Place

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

Well its been a little while since i last blogged, and in that time we have moved to Swanage.Loving it here, and renting at the moment, but have put an offer in on a fisherman’s cottage, more on that as it progresses.

Bumped into a client the other day in Swanage, and she asked me to design a new 32metre border for her property in Sandbanks, which has the usual problems for gardens down there of salt, exposure and wind.  Have also been back to Brighton to see in the deliveries for the job, which is now going to be completed in March, when the weather is hopefully better.  it should be fantastic when finished containerised garden on three floors using faux plants which is interesting and no maintenance! I did another faux planting in pots for modern house in Branksome, in November so perhaps my clients know something i dont!

Put in new custom built window boxes at my old friend’s (figure of speech!) Sue Mirco’s interior design shop, very smart and very London, with box balls, white cyclamen and trailing ivy, very classy, they set the shop off nicely and give real kerb appeal.

Hopefully when i blog again, spring will be well on the way and heres to fantastic plants and planting in 2012.

Autumn – October

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Autumn is now well at truly here.  The leaves are colouring up nicely, the dahlias look wonderful, would thoroughly recommend them, and if you dont know what to do with them in the winter just grow them as annuals, and I am getting ready to move house.  My pots are all ready to go to their temporary home at Beecroft Nursery. Have got rid of lots of old compost and rubbish, now is a good time of year to do it anyway.

Have just finished doing a container garden in Sandbanks with lots of bright pink pots, and am now concentrating on my commission in Brighton, more of that later.

Summer is here

Friday, August 19th, 2011

No sooner said summer is here than its raining cats and dogs, ah the beauty of an english climate. Busy at present working on a hotel design in Bournemouth – The Trouville, come and check that out in the next few weeks, a private garden in Sandbanks, Poole, and a new design for a garden in Lilliput. on the blog gallery are a few samples of what is flowering well now in my own garden.
Went to Stanbridge Mill garden last week with my old gardening buddy, Jo, it was open for the NGS, and looked fabulous, lots of cottage flowers all looking amazing, met up with some old friends there, Jonathan Garrett the renowned potter, and Trish Neale latterly of the WRGS and now working for the NGS. Here are some pictures at stanbridge mill.
